Propagations of Sin-Gaussian Beam with Astigmatism through Oceanic Turbulence

چکیده

The propagation behaviours of a sin-Gaussian beam (SiGB) with astigmatism in oceanic water is analysed. analytical expressions for the average intensity such are derived by using extended Huygens-Fresnel integral. Its and on-axial distributions numerically examined. Then, we mainly focus on effect parameters medium structure constant astigmatic SiGBs water, revealing that evolutions can be effectively modulated adjusting parameter, coherence length atmosphere turbulence strength.

Analyzing the Propagation Behavior of a Gaussian Laser Beam through Seawater and Comparing with Atmosphere

Study of the beam propagation behavior through oceanic media is a challenging subject. In this paper, based on generalized Collins integral, the mean irradiance profile of Gaussian laser beam propagation through ocean is investigated. Power In Special Bucket (PIB) is calculated. Using analytical expressions and calculating seawater transmission, the effects of absorption and scattering on beam ...

Optimum truncation of a Gaussian beam for propagation through atmospheric turbulence.

The mean on-axis far-field (or focal-plane) irradiance of a Gaussian beam that is truncated by a circular aperture in the presence of atmospheric turbulence is considered. In the absence of turbulence, an accurate analytic approximation for the irradiance distribution that is valid within the main central lobe of the beam is presented. Based on this approximation, the mean on-axis far-field irr...

Gaussian beam propagation in maritime atmospheric turbulence: long term beam spread and beam wander analysis

Laser beam propagation in maritime environment is particularly challenging, not only for scattering and absorption due to high humidity, but also for a different behavior of atmospheric turbulence with respect to terrestrial propagation. Recently, a new power spectrum for the fluctuations of the refractive index in the Earth’s atmosphere has been introduced to describe maritime atmospheric turb...

Sound scattering from oceanic turbulence

[1] The first near coincident measurements of acoustic backscatter and temperature/velocity microstructure confirm theoretical predictions that oceanic turbulence scatters sound. Not only are acoustic backscatter at 307 kHz and turbulent microstructure unambiguously correlated on a patch-by-patch basis, but measured scattering amplitudes agree with theoretical predictions for scattering from tu...

Decoupling of coherent Gaussian beams with general astigmatism.

We show how to decouple a coherent Gaussian beam having general astigmatism (to transform it into a beam having only simple astigmatism, or orthogonal symmetry) by using a single rotated thin cylindrical lens. The resulting coherent orthogonal Gaussian beam may be further transformed into a stigmatic (rotationally symmetric) Gaussian beam by an orthogonal telescopic magnifier. The initial beam ...
